I don't really have much constructive to say but thats a really cool style. The way you did the colors really helps too.
'Sup peeps.
Real quickie Batman & Robin piece, for the Animal-Themed Superhereoes jamboree; I tried to keep it under an hour from first pencils to saving as JPEG. I went with a more 'classic', Bob Kane-style Batman, since I haven't been able to make the sleek look work for me very well. There are a couple kinks in this pic, mainly Bat's torso looks bloated, but for such a quick n' dirty pic I thought it turned out cool:
Comments would be sweet indeed. Peace out.

Nice work Steve. This might be one of my favorites of yours, despite the bloated torso, and what appears to be an elongated right thigh. It almost looks like you've channeled Mignola a bit.
I love the coloring. The torso is problematic, and takes away from the whole piece.
Batman looks like he shouldn't be able to balance that way.
Keep working on this stuff. It will come.

****ing beautiful.
You've captured everything the look i've always envisioned batman to have with Robin.
With the exception of Batman's upperbody, everything is spot in.

Accepting harsh constructive crits, "draw overs" and any kind of comments that would help my art along.
Thanks in advance,

Awesome. I really like batman's exaggerated torso. Gives him kind of a Mr. Incredible feel. And I like the red sky, which is the same color you always saw on the 90s cartoon. Apparently it was always twilight in Gotham, but it works so well.
Always a pleasure to see a new Sdowner post.

I'm surprised it was a hit!
This piece was kind of experimental for me, and I'm glad to see I hit the right note with so many of you. I'll probably do a couple more in this vein when I have time.
ScottEwen-
The red sky is indeed inspired by Batman: The Animated Series.
That cartoon is what made me draw superheroes in the first place, and it inspired my love for Batman and comics in general growing up.
That coloring effect is to cool for words man.

Not bad, Steve!
I think Batman's legs are kind of miss-matched a bit. The lower, right leg seems very stylized, but the lower, left leg seems a bit more realistic, which is a bit odd.
Batman's right hand looks a little rushed, maybe.
I really like the contrast between Batman's bulky torso and Robin's smaller frame!
Why didn't you color Batman's utility belt?
