Somebody's filter-drunk here, and it ain't me.
This is a common malady in novice Photoshop artists,
I see the clouds filter in the first and the Extrude filter in the second. A good rule of thumb when using filters, is this: nobody should know you used them. Which isn't to say their effect shouldn't be there, just that it needs to be subtle and enhance the art instead of overpowering it, which it does here. The flames in the first piece also reflect your overuse of the smudge tool.
My advice to you is to keep your coloring simple and focus on just the essentials for a while- ignore all the glows, transparency effects and cool textures that you want to use and focus on learning the basics of light & shade, and how to apply them in your art. Using the filters will only obscure flaws in your art to the layperson- most pros will be able to see right through it.
Anyway, after that scathing statement, I will say that your picture of the masks is pretty cool in the lines stage. You might want to ink that Stewie one, though.
