This is one of your better compositions but drawing it on folder paper just kills it.

Hey Larry
you know if you'd stay true to that lined paper you'd have perfect Bricks
On your shadow..I'd take an action figure..or your daughters Barbie ( any figure would work, and stand it close to a wall ( or like ) and take your lamp and light the figure and see how the shadow is cast.( move your lighting till you get the shadow you like.
Blessings!

Bryan's advice is spot on and u can think of shadows as the figures' silhouettes. You got strong ideas and this pic is a brave attempt to attempt foreshortening. I got no issues with the standing figure but the laying figure needs work because his right leg is too short compared to the other. The best way to draw that laying figure is to draw through the standing one. If u are using pencils just take your time to do the framework and once the foundations are solid your good ideas will be convincing.
Hope that helps you out.

yeah the right leg definitely needs work I'm stuck on that part of it. You can tell by my erasing constantly and redrawing that part. I have a hard time conveying things correctly from my mind to paper.

Work with a light pencil...a 2H...and sketch your idea. Also use different paper because notebooks crumple after you erase it several times. Then build it up with a heavier pencil like the one u have used..Looks like a 3B.This may sound like it takes longer but it takes u longer readjusting drawings if u know what I mean.
Just redraw the image to a clean sheet of cartridge. Lightbox the original and see if it works out for you.

Hey Larry
Have you looked for a visual Reff to help you out with your trouble areas?
I'd check out some wrestling or boxing pics.I've been going threw Buddy Scaleras new book ( cd included ) and who Comic Artist use references..One way is seek a pose from a Visual source first, the Other is sketch your pose then find a similar photo.
I know I've mentioned his CD references before and I remember your not made of money,But if you invest in this latest book,Or can check it out at the library ( it's Free ) I think you'd find it's time an $$ well spent.
here's that link again that you can also check out Free Samples

I hear that..Man I use to be-able to draw off the top of my head..But after gettin Crit apone Crit from the working Pro's,I find it hard to draw now with out some visual reference.I know I've been told by Joe Kubert grads that you should never be a slave to references. But I'm not sure where they draw the line.
Blessings!

I need help because mentally I don't have the training to distinguish the proportion of the straight leg well enough on the fallen man. Perspective has to match the standing mans perspective as well to be convincing enough.
