Okay, artists, sharpen those pencils because Penciljack.com and Buddy Scalera are having an art contest, and we want to see what you've got!
To celebrate the release of Comic Artist’s Photo Reference: People & Poses by Buddy Scalera, we’ve teamed up for our first ever “Comics from Photo Reference” contest. Two talented winners will get a free copy of the book and will be featured on penciljack.com.
Two Categories
- Category 1: Pinup/cover art
- Category 2: Interior/sequential art
(Three panels minimum to be considered for sequential art.)
One winner from each category will win a copy of the book “Comic Artist’s Photo Reference: People & Poses” by Buddy Scalera. The book features 1,000+ full color images in a 144 page book with CD-ROM. Visit Buddy's site for more info about this extremely cool book!
Deadline for Submissions
- Category 1: Pinup/cover art – December 4
- Category 2: Interior/sequential art – December 11
Rules … Read ‘em Carefully
- You must use one or more images from Buddy Scalera’s book “Comic Artist’s Photo Reference: People & Poses” published by Impact Books. No purchase necessary.
- A gallery of eligible images are attached to this post. Use ONLY THESE IMAGES.
- There is no purchase required to enter.
- Enter as many times as you like, but only one entry per email.
- Submit entries to: AfterHoursPress@gmail.com.
- The subject line of your email must include the type of pose (either Pinup/cover art or Interior/sequential art), your name, and the number of submissions you have made. For example: “Pinup Art, John Doe, Submission #2”
- Draw any character you want in any pose you want.
- Pornographic, nude, or sexually suggestive images are automatically disqualified
- All entries must be in JPEG format, 72 dpi.
- Create art in any medium: pencils, inks, colors, paints, digital, markers, crayons…whatever works for you.
Judging
Judging is done at the sole discretion of the judges. No take backs, no do-overs, no crying, no whining, no complaining. It’s a fun contest, so have fun.
