    Worthless.

I havent done anything artistic for a while, and I am begining to force myself back into it.

I really love painting/digital painting, and I have a tablet but I havent been putting it to good use, so tonight I decided to stop being a baby and just do something .

I really just kind of felt like trying to make something kinda shiney . So at first I was starting with a face, then I decided to turn it into a mask and go for a kinda shiney surface . I used photoshop and my tablet for this, and I liked what I did tonight so I plan on continuing to do maybe simple things until I get my real desire back .

Here is a Composite Superman piece I have been working on and off for like 7 months, will probably never finish it .

I did most of this around january, but then I got burnt out and I keep like working on it for 10 minutes here and there, and I am tempted to just give up on it, I dunno.

Well this morning I was playing around in PS , and I made a new brush for cloud type things, and I was messing around with it and ended up with this random type under water bubbly thing, I liked it so I didnt delete it!

Hey, nice work! I like all of the various textures you're able to achieve. I have Photoshop and a tablet, and I can't do that. Do you have a bunch of custom brushes, or are you playing with filters or something? Share your magic!

Yes I do have alot of custom brushes! The main secret to how I do it is, I work with it at a high resolution and then shrink it for the web, and I usually work with small brushes really zoomed in!

Its like the way if you look at a good painting from far away you dont notice the strokes and such, but when you get up close you see them , If you work large , just working on say a 8X5 at 300 dpi then shrink it to 72 DPI for the web you will achieve that effect! Oh also make sure you go under brushes and go to shape dynamics and make sure "Pen pressure" is on , and do not have your brush at 100% opacity, I usually have mine around 15-25% .

Heres another one that I probably wont ever finish, My girlfriends uncle is a really cool guy, so I decided to make him a present, and He loves Wonder Woman, so this was going to be like him and Her flying through Heaven, His body isnt photoreferenced but his face is. I dont know why I got burnt out on this but , I dunno maybe I`ll get it done one day.

I decided I would really like to do Mumra this morning, so before I digipaint stuff, I always do a sketch of sorts , to give me guidelines and stuff for me to set my layers .

When I sketch for something I plan to digipaint , I dont really take too much time, and I just try to give myself guidelines for my flat layers . And or guidelines if I get lost painting like what should go where, etc . So this is my sketch of Mumra , which I will begin painting and working on now . I really enjoy the "coloring" aspect of things, so when it comes to digipainting I dont spend much time on a sketch, I basically make a road map so I can begin the fun part ASAP

Hopefully by tomorow Ill be done with the painting .

Here are the flats to the Mumra pic,

Now the fun begins! Each color is a seperate layer, I like layers alot! I should also say, the way I do it is, I dont pick a really dark color and then just use a lighter and lighter and lighter color and build it from that, I pick something in the middle and do the shadows and shades, then I do the light part , I have noticed that some people prefer to just build from a dark color with lighter colors, I have never really tried that because it doesnt feel too natural to me.
