It's a nice rendering of a real person dressed as a superhero for halloween. Savage Dragon should be huge. Get the book by B. Hogarth called "Dynamic Anatomy." Superhero's are larger than life and should be drawn that way. Sell the fantasy.
One of my old favorites, and still kickin today. Hope ya enjoy.

his injuries are a bit fake-looking. They don't seem to be a part of the picture but almost added to the top as an after thought. For example, the katana seems to fit perfectly into the gap between arm and chest as there is no sign of a wound (ie: blood or cut) and if a sword was sticking out of his chest then savage wouldn't be cringing and hunching around the woun d as this would cause insanely excruciating pain. Even the angles the weapons are sticking out from seem wrong.
Like I said, the wounds and weapons just seem fake. Though you seem moe interested in his anatomy and build more right? Hence the hogarth comment?
I'm a big fan of your style and I like this pic too. Really like the all the different weapons Dragon is hit with, espically the stapler. Nice.
Oh, yea and please don't get Hogarth's book. I'd hate for your nice natural style to turn into his stiff blocky plastic style.
I'm not a fan of Hogarth's books, actually. Get anything you can from Loomis, though-- now THERE is a master.
Gotta agree with El Davismo here-- Dragon as a character is DEFINED by a huge look. This reminds me more of a YOUNG Dragon, like one that might join the Teen Titans or something.
ok, normally i would be the last one to tell you that your characters are too small physically because i respect a unique vision. but this one character needs to be huge. it's not the savage dragon at all. this is like drawing the hulk with spiderman's build. come on, man.
Ditto everything.Originally Posted by Logan

You have a nice style, just try to adapt the build to the character you're drawing. Always drawing slim figures is as cliché as always drawing bodybuilded types. Maybe you are drawing referencing yourself... Watch, observe around you. Variety is the key word in Nature.
fuİk all of them... your style is unique and cool. it seems like the only thing that would appease some of these guys would be to say "alternate universe savage dragon." its funny how when you make a female version of a male character nobody say... "well it looks good. but i hate to break it to you, you drew the body type wrong. he doesnt have breasts. read the comic, hes not a girl". WTF mate.
Don't take this the wrong way but, your post is idiotic.Originally Posted by angeltread
Yes, his style is unique and cool, but the fact remains that the Savage Dragon typically has a very large build. There are a few characters that, regardless of how unique and cool your style is, just don't look right when they're emaciated and in dire need of a ham sammich.
Characters that can go toe to toe with the Hulk should look the part.
Money can't buy you happiness, but it will pay for the search.
I can deal with him not being bulkier, but his legs look way too skinny.
Also, note your great shading on the torso and right arm, that kind of detail should be carried throughout the picture, to all body parts and objects.
