This was a quickie (at least for me...) as I'm trying to speed up my coloring skills. Tried to be less OCD...



There are few things I see wrong but I'm trying to let it be...feel free to point them out tho.

your colors add alot, I would have put a little more time in to the amulet/necklace thing, comes across a smooth/round.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how to render the amulet...on one hand it looks like it's supposed to protrude...on the other it looks like it should be fractal (that the word?).
I'm doing another one of his soon and the character has an amulet as well, so I'll try to do it differently on that pic and asee what happens.

Overall I would say it is pretty good. It has a nice oil pastel type look to it. My only crit is that is lacks detail in a lot of places... the hair, amulet, belt and fire for example. Sometimes it is good to keep it simple but I think just a sukosh more detail would make this great.

You're absolutely right...I did keep it simple. It was a speed test, because I'm trying to learn how to do better than 3 days (total hours)for one pic.
My next 2 will have a lot more detail I promise.
Oddly enough the pic I'm doing now is taking me less time ...I believe it's because of rushing to do this. Something, I heard makes sense now:
He/They/She said," K.I.S.S....Keep It Simple Stupid" So by rushing I tried to get the most effect for less OCDing. It forced me to leave certain things alone, and instead enhance my initial coloring - minimally (that a word?). The picture (Storm) before I did this one took me 2 weeks (maybe an hour average per day) to get 3/4s done. Inkthinker's Alley Way took me a month and a half (hour average), and I haven't even gone back to finish that one yet. I'll be done w/ this last one in less than a week. It may be working, but I'm also seeing another style coming from this for me. We'll see....
