I'm just curious as to how many people here ink by hand, and who uses photoshop.

You did mean to ask," who Hand inks well?".

I really stink at inking, and I like to look at other people's owrk, both as a guide and inspiration. But I get confused, since the trend has really swung toward digital work. Or maybe I'm confused abotu that...but yeah - who hand-inks well?![]()

i still ink by hand on occassion, but anymore most of my stuff is actually inked via illustrator, using a custom brush. i only use the pen tool for straight lines.
I still ink stuff with a brush.
...unless it's something I've also drawn.
By Hand because I like actual art in my hands and not on a disk. I respect the use of Digital pans but I haven't any use for the stuff because there will never be a chance of getting hold of the artwork. May as well be an etch a sketch.
I ink with a brush. I like how it looks better than digital inking, at least on my own work.
I'm also really lousy with the tablet. I can control it well enough for coloring and toning, but my drawings look like they were done by a retarded child.
Ironically, I have more controll with pens and brushes than I do with a tablet and software.
I wouldn't say I ink well.
(hehe, ink well, hehe, ink, well, ha hahaha)
I ink by hand. Started out with pens, and now I mainly use brushes, and use nibs when I have to. You can see some of my inks if you visit the link in my sig.
I honestly gotta day I don't have much respect for digital inking, but that's MAINLY when the guys cheat with things like the Pen Tool and stuff. There's no imagination there, no stylization, just sterile tracing. And there's only two digital inkers that have actually impressed me, one of them mainly because he's so good at it that he fooled me for over a year into thinking he did his inks by hand lol. The other has a really funky blocky style that just plain looks cool.
i mainly ink using opencanvas, but usually ink my own stuff by hand. Digital is different, offer more posibilities (once you start using layers to save time and to add effects) but i agree with justice, holding the art is really different (when i print them is not the same, but really near)
