    Conan

Did this in my friends sketch book at the Lubbock sketch night the other night. I love Conan. And he loves me. But we's both sees horrible things with this sketch. Like that girls legs is way too short. And what the EFF is going on with conan's forearm? Sheesh! Who drew this?!! This sucks... Take it bac-- oh right... it was me. Hmmm... do better next time, ok Will.

There are a few flaws, but I like it. Conan has a huge (butt), but it's got offbeat charm and that counts for a lot.

    Hey Will
well your profile reads Comic book artist. My first impression was The Great Mad Mag.
Conan is a big favorite of mine.I tend to lean tword the Berry Smith Conan ( way back ) so care full with the characters, right now I get a little mermaid feeling about it.
    But it's good work!
    Blessings!

I like Barry Windsor Smith too. But my style seems to be evolving into a more animated style. I like the fluidity of it. But Little mermaid? Harsh. S'what I get for indulging my proclivities.

I was thinking more Foglio than Little Mermaid. Buscema drew my favorite Conan. Still, nothing wrong with cartoony (unless we're talking the Conan cartoon *shudder*). I think if that right leg were drawn in and made narrower it would better compliment the lean, mean, and topfheavy look. I can't hold a candle to most of the talents around here, but my own style has also been moving in a more cartoony direction.

thats exactly what I thought when I saw it ... it would be really easy, just loose the sword and belt, get rid of the bangs and it could totally be tarzan ... I think it's the build he has it looks more ape like like tarzan and less big and powerfull like conan .... anyways enough with that .. it's a nice piece

No worries Mr. Warner, I was just being a little facetious. Yes, Tarzan. Kicks much more booty than little mermaid in the analogous dept. I can dig it. And he does seem very Tarzanish. Back to the drawing board I suppose. I like the pose, or the idea of the pose, I'm gonna do another illo, something similar, but with more OOOMPH! Maybe even a little more Windsor Smithish OoompH!

Hey Ronny, you should scan that sketch I did for you and email it to me. I'll put it up here in this thread. I've got a few more Conan's floating around out there that I've sketched. I'll try and get them too.

Thanks for commenting guys. I appreciate you.
