Sword hand is upside down.
My favorite Showdown Character of them all, tell me if you think if I portrayed him correctly.

Sword hand is upside down.
Come on, You know you like to hold swords backwards sometimes. Cuz It's COOL. And it's not like he's fighting, so he can show off a little. That was hard for me though, you dont know how long it took me to draw a hand I liked. I drew it both ways and that one came out the best.
You've done a good job of nailing the Tao of Galford.
But you lose points for no Poppy. That's like a picture of Timmy with no Lassie. :P
Didn't Galford used to have Shoulda-ma-pads too? Or did they ditch those in later games?
Has nothing to do with his sword position. With his arm in that position, you wouldn't see the back of his hand like that unless his wrist was broken.Originally Posted by Phillup

I would take issue with the extension and positioning of the arm before I'd take issue with the hand placement.
Your wrist would not be broken as it can rotate in addition to moving up and down. This is a fairly common pose. The problem is the distance of the arm from the body, but I'm assuming Galford can do this thanks to badass ninja training, which I do not possess.
If anything, the hand drawing and angle of the sword are a bit off, but I'm not going to pick nits as the idea is expressed without question and Phillup isn't striving for hyper realism in his art.
Oh, also noticed - the sword would also be too long for the sheath. No biggie.![]()
its a good pic.
as far as the hand, i didnt really notice it, but i think the problem is not so much the position of the hand but the way his forearm appears to be.
there's not a lot of detail so i wont swear by it, but it appears as if his forearm is in the palm toward the veiwer position. whereas when you are in the knuckle out postion, the forearm and elbow look dif, but like i said, theres not a lot of lines so im not sure. It is possible for his hand to be behind his back knuckles facing us though.
Over all i like the pic, think galford had a shorter sword though, more of a dagger, i could be mistaken.
