Logo Challenge II: Prodigal (K.O.- Spidey)

Challenge was to create a logo based soley on a short description of a story.

Prodigal - In the far distant future, humanity has colinized the stars. Earth has remained the center of the human galaxy, until a expedition to the last remaining unknown sectors reveals a planet with life; human life.

It's hard for me to vote. If I had it my way, I would take the style of Spidey's and the concept's of Warmule and merge the two together. I'll vote when you have an option to combine vote's.

I'm not fond of the generic gradients on most of these... if it weren't for that, I would have voted for someone else.

    Anyhoo, I voted Spidey.

Warmule, I LOVED your concept with the people holding hands and the two planets behind each other. I think you were dead-on with that.
The follow-through, unfortunately, didn't seem to service the science-fiction aspects of the story at all. That doesn't mean you need to go with a techy font, but the lower-case serif didn't really help either.

Raedes gives me this very close "blue Sun" feel which calls to my inner-browncoat, had to go with it.

I personally liked Giga's because his envoked a familiar yet distant (almost hieroglyphic) text which I thought fit appropriately, even though I still voted for myself because I'm shallow. Yeah, I know..

I hear what you're saying. I figured there were already 5 entries with a "sans serif + gradient" so I should give the people something different.

The reason i went with a simple serif-y font was that it wasn't aliens they discovered on the planet, but humans. I thought they might have similarities in the way their civilization worked....or at least that's what I was trying to get across.

But, yeah, my font choice hurt the design
