FAMILY GUY COMICS FROM DEVIL'S DUE
Devil's Due Publishing will begin a series of comics based on Fox's Family Guy in April.
Family Guy: Volume 1 will kick off a bimonthly series.
Matt Fleckenstein, staff writer of the animated series, is the book's writer, with art by Benjamin Phillips.
Here's how Devil's Due describes the book:
"The Family Guy steps out of the TV screen and into a new bimonthly series from Devil's Due! Each of the three volumes in this series focuses on one of the star characters, and their views on life... however skewed they may be! Want advice from Peter or Stewie? Probably not, but they're going to give it to you anyway! In between these hilarious one-on-one segments are stories rivaled only by the TV show itself."
Look for all of Devil's Due's April solicitations soon here in The Continuum.
I dont see a problem with a family guy comic book as long as it can be funny.
-Your born wet naked and hungry then things just get worse.
-Life is like a box of chocolates.. you got one cherry and twelve FRICKEN COCONUTS!
Agreed-- they're not saying you gotta buy it. The comic industry was created reprinting comic STRIPS in collections, for crying out loud. No foul here. I am concerned with the quality issue, but eh-- let 'em do it.
Sell some books, get a few more readers into shops. Yeah, that WOULD suck.![]()

Have you ever seen the simpson comic book? how about futurama?
They have comics on the shelves, I don't really see anything wrong with a family guy comic being made.
Really, what's the bug about on this one man?

I'm gonna have to go with the majority on this one. I don't like comics based on shows and I've never liked them but I won't stand in the way of someone else buying them.
Watching it animated should be enough.
I'm all for Family Guy comics, but I think it'd be better if it were like the TV show and instead of poking fun at actors and having various TV and movie parodies, they poked fun at famous comic creators and had comic parodies sprinkled throughout.
The reason why Bongo comics are good is because Groening oversees them all. The only way Family Guy will be of the same or greater caliber is if Seth McFarlane does the same. Possibly. I don't know if he has the same kind of eye for comics as Matt does.

Well Matt Groening started off in comics (Life In Hell) so he kind of had a head start!
