    Lying in the Gutters countdown

Only one hour until LitG returns! Oh how we need our comics gossip. It's sure to provide much conversation soon enough!

Seems they've been having some problems with their domain.

It's up now, and any interest I'd gained in the V movie after seeing that Natalie Portman picture has evaporated. Oh well.

I'm liking the new format, though I do miss the old one. Maybe he could do a combo of old and new after the six week period?

Seriously. But really, is anyone at all surprised by that bit of news? Is it me, or does it seem like a recurring pattern every time an Alan Moore comic is adapted for the screen? You'd think people would just give up by now.

I can't imagine how they're going to mutilate "Watchmen" if he's this dissatisfied with the "V" treatment.

sweet! Moore's kicked DC to the curb! score! Top Shelf will treat him right. i'm so happy for him.

    edit:
and this, this just made me poop my pants all over again!
Alan is one hundred pages into an unnamed graphic novel for Avatar - something he committed to when faced with a tax bill and an imminent cashflow problem over an unexpected reduction in royalty payments on another project. Avatar Publisher William Christensen fronted Moore the necessary funds, Moore took an agreed holiday (his first he can recall in twenty-five years) and is now well into the project.

Just imagine how hard it's got to be to stick to your guns and turn down all the money he would normally be making off these movies.

Kinda admirable, but it's funny to hear about his money troubles when he could be sitting fairly pretty on Hollywood checks.

I'm not so sure that he's even seen anything from the movie, I think he's just pissed off at Hollywood all together. And the fact that Sliver is being a standard producer. It still might be good. The Wachowski's being comic fans gives me a bit of hope.

Well, one of the sidebars in the link above has Moore's reaction to reading the shooting script for "V". They sent him a copy of it, and he ripped it pretty hard.

Really? I didn't read that. I'll have to check that out.

How can you be optimistic after the dancing scene in Matrix 2. Being an almost complete cynic I saw that and the transfer was complete... there is no hope for man.
