    Drawing for my girl's birthday

I obviously can't ask her opinions about it since its going to a be a suprise. Also i don't have a working scanner right now so the best i have is a picture.

    Hey Sean.
Well since I really can't see your original,( it's a black box to me.) I'd say your coming along pretty nicely from what I can tell,be encouraged,I think your labors will be much appreciated.
    Blessings!

Smooth out the guys nose a tad, double check your lip-lock,and give the eye-brows and hair some more attention.
Here's a site I believe will help ya.

Keep it up,you just need to give it a bit more attention and pick a direction of light if you can.

I agree with what Bryan said about the hair and eyebrows. I also think that you need to add darker values into both faces because right now the focal point would be the large black areas that are darker than anything else on the page.

    Which leads me to this....

I'd suggest not pressing so hard with your ebony pencil. When you press as hard as you are, you get that shiny effect which makes the drawing almost impossible to look at in a well lit room (you get that shiny glare). If you layer the darks slowly you will get a much more pleasing effect.
