Marvel Knight's Spider-Man

I have to say first that the first tweleve issues of this were amazing. Written by Mark Millar, drawn by Terry Dodson with guest artist Frank Cho, how could you go wrong? with those twelve books i fell in love with everything spider-man all over again. it all the stuff i remember from it when i used to read it fairly regularly as kid. all the introspective narration and all the angst and worry over loved ones.
plus this one had an amazing twist with the characters and all the updates like that kid becoming the new Venom and then gargan getting it. who saw that coming, really?

imagine my disappointment when the new creative team took over. i can't quite recall who is writing it right now, but the introspection and worry crossed that very thin line into annoying whinning and pity and paranoia.
i have an old series illustrated by Billy Tan: The Spirit of the Tao (or something along those lines) and it's pretty well done. art is consistent and pleasing. in the thirteenth issue of MK: Spider-man, there's none of that. Pete's head looks fairly squished in several panels and nothing looks right. it looks like the book was rushed and couldn't get the job done right in time.

The only possible reason for me to pick up the next issue is the end of #13 *SPOILER*spider-man gets stabbed accidently by wolverine and this is completly out of character. sure they're new to being avengers and don't have each other's styles down yet. but seriously, what about spider-sense? what about wolverine's years of martial arts training? i guess it's a good plot point, but dammit, it doesn't make sense*END SPOILER*

needless to say, i've dropped the title and may pick it up later with another creative team, but right now, i'm pissed.

just wanted to say that Brian Hudlin is the fellow who wrote this god-awful book. i was reading on thefourthrail.com, and it seems that tan's art get's tighter and less, well, shitty. i may pick up this issue and thumb through it, but it's gonna take a lot for me to buy the damn thing.

i only just picked up the first two volumes of this a couple weeks ago. and i guess i'm glad i only have to pick one more up for now. easier on the wallet. i really hate when creative teams switch on a monthly title... switching artists is okay, but when the whole team is switched it burns my biscuits. i thought i heard that millar & dodson are coming back for another 12 issues after a break.

I only have the first trade and I really liked it alot. I'm ordering the other two soon.

The guy writing the new arc is actually Reginald Hudlin, not Brian.

I wasn't impressed by the preview art I saw by Tan, and it's such a drastic change in style compared to the gorgeous work that both Dodson and Cho turned in, that I don't think I'll pick up the trade(s) involving this team.

damn the first year of MK spiderman was amazing it was so fresh and spiderman got his butt kicked properly, all the new villain designs were really nice...

then it all ended, the final issue was a bit of a cop-out but it was much better compared to the new arc with the Reggie creative team

the art is substandard, if Marvel is hiring crap like that I ought ta draw for marvel, cos I'm crap too

and another thing is with the whole "omg you snitczzzzzkkk me" mentioning those "sound" effects is definatly getting lame
