    Samurai Champloo is coming

The ads have sprung up on Adult Swim. If you haven't caught on by now, this is one of the hottest animated series I've seen. It's got a clever sense of design and the action is nothing less than stunningly animated, espescially some of the fights towards the end of the series that currently rank as the best animated swordfight I've ever seen.

I'm already buying the DVDs, but for you cheapos this is your golden opportunity to check out the best anime since Cowboy Bebop. The mix starts May 14 on Adult Swim.

I don't think I can handle dubbed version after hearing the Japanese version first. I can only imagine the horrible voice actress they use on Fuu-Chan, but then, they did a great job with Beebop, so who knows.

I'm still going to be copying all my sister's burned cd's of it. I kind of like the japanese voices and the nice hints and tips the fansubbers have provided. But it is a damn awesome show, very inspiring. I have only seen the first 8 episodes, I think, so I'm really anxious to see more.

The dubs not bad at all, trust me. It's at least as good as Bebop, and shares several of the same actors.

I will miss the little hints though... it's something that fansubbers do that I wish a legit publisher would pick up on, perhaps as an alternate subtitle track that just puts up cultural and historical notes when appropriate.

The three main characters in the English dub are very well cast and they handle their roles well. A few dubbies criticize the casting because it was too safe in who it casted (i.e., didn't try to see if an octagon peg would fit in the round hole), but whatever. I think Kari Wahlgren as Fuu rocks. Kirk Thornton as Jin is cool and "Daniel Andrews" gives Mugen great tude. But, like most Bang Zoom! dubs almost anyone outside of the main cast tend to be much less than stellar.

Seeing as how I wouldn't watch ep by ep on computer and I doubt an entire dvd on my own time... I'll go ahead and watch it on adult swim.

BTW, has the GITS:SC been only season 1 or has it been season 1 and 2?

How many freakin' names does that guy have? He sure goes a long way to avoid pissing off the union, I assume. "David Lucas", "Steven Blum", "that guy who does the 7-11 radio ads"... first time I heard Spike Speigel's voice say "Oh thank heaven, it's 7-11", why I 'bout dropped my Big Gulp.

Vol. 2 hit last month. Silly me, I loaned the DVD to my boss and still haven't seen it... I want to know how they handled The Man On The Road To Big, my main man MC Samurai and his beatbox backup.

I think they just wrapped up the first season. The second season is on the way, though.

blah..I already finished it in japanese. I rented the first two dub DVDs off netflix just to see how the actors sounded..I dunno if I'll be making space in my schedule for this. I thought the show was fun but it damn sure wasn't and Cowboy Bebop.
