I had heard about this back when it was still called Danny the Dog, but that's American title convention for you... I had high hopes for it, and now it appears that they were well-founded.
If you haven't seen or heard about this, check out the trailer. Jet Li plays the role of Danny, a brutally abused child who grows up to be an animalistic fighter whenever his collar is removed. He's kept as a dog is kept, and all he knows is killing... until he's left for dead, and finds freedom in family.
According to the AICN review, this is one of Jet Li's most brutal film. Taking a cue from Ong Bak, the martial arts are reportedly as brutal and frightening as they are awe-inspiring.
But with Luc Besson (Leon, aka the Professional) and Louis Leterrier (The Transporter) behind this film, it's more than just a violent martial-arts spectacular... much like Leon, this movie goes a long way towards encouraging the audiece to invest an emotional involvement into the characters... you care about what happens to them, much in the same way you care about the fate of Leon and Mathilda. With Morgan Freeman, Bob Hoskins and Kerry Condon, the cast has the chops to make that work, and work well

Done, and done. I'm looking forward to this - anybody else getting an Ichi the Killer vibe from the basic premise? Didn't care for that film, but the whole childlike killing machine is kinda similar.
I think I saw the trailer in front of Garden State or maybe Eternal Sunshine or Closer or something, I don't remember, but yeah, I have really been looking forward to this movie.
I need to pick up the soundtrack by Massive Attack. That's out already and they're awesome.
Looks like a cool action movie. Jet Li is a plus cause he kicks ass.
When I heard about this I thought it was pretty interesting, it sounds like a very different movie . Im looking forward to this one .

Bah, Danny the Dog is a much better title. Hearing that then hearing the title "Unleashed", makes me cringe it's so corny.
