    warren ellis' Ocean? spoilers?

Id like to know what this book is about. Id pick it up but getting to a comic shop is equal to getting to the moon for me right now.

Without trying to spoil too much:

Ocean is set like 100 years or so in the future and centers around a couple of groups of people (an exploratory force and the evil Doors corporation) who've found people in coffins under the ice of Jupiter's moon, Europa.

The scripting is not dense by any means, so there's a fair amount of storytelling left up to Chris Sprouse's art.

It's a become one of my "save the best for last" reads.

The book is suprisingly good! It's the best hardcore (legitimate) sci fi comic out right now. (That may not being saying much, because there's not many, but still)
The art is great, the writing is great, everythings great. I'd definitely recommend it.

    I don't know . . .

Decompression at its worst like much of Ellis' current work. High concept with pacing that's slower than watching grass grow in the Gobi. On the hot hot heat scale this is lukewarm.

The lack of intro pages and to be continued cliffhanger endings lead me to believe the book was a GN [like Orbiter] that DC couldn't justify giving the GN treatment.

Get it for Sprouse and Story. They are cleary the force driving this [space] ship.

I agree with you about the decompression leading to the idea that it is suited for a GN, but I wonder if Ellis is a victim of the Marvel "write for trade" theme.

The pace is slow, but the more I read, the more I want to read.

And they're from outer space, too.
