Here's a thought... write a letter to Celsys and complain about it. Maybe it'll light a fire under their butts... I for one would like a copy of the software that isn't two versions behind the Japanese edition.

And lastly, if I WAS to share it with someone... well, EJ asked first. I admit, it'd be nice to see it in the hands of someone driven enough to use it properly, instead of my lazy and conflicted self.

I really do wish they'd frickin' get it done... I think it has the potential to really kick the webcomic industry into a new gear.

Every time I try to dig a little and find out what's holding up the deal with US distribution, though, I end up hitting a stone wall. Last rumour I heard was that perhaps TokyoPop was in negotiations for the US license, but I don't have any contacts at all there, and wouldn't even know who to ask about it.

It could be... but it won't. Though I do feel bad when I have to throw a paper out because I ****ed up to badly. Besides I hardly draw anyhow so it's all your fault.

I'm sure you can find that program on the net somewhere... somewhere but where.

Found a full version? And in English?

'Cause there's a freeware version of v.1 with limited English that I know is available out there somewhere... I think you could pull it from a Chinese server, last I heard. But it's only good for practice and playing about, it's not as useful as the full deal, and I don't think it has the full range of output options like PSDs and so forth (kinda like Photoshop LE)... but it's legit, and legal, I think.

In Japan they're up to v.3, with vector brushes and all sorts of goodies.

I think I found a version, but it is like v1 or somethin I think. I didn't dl it, it just says Comic Studio then some Japanese characters after that so I put 2 and 2 together. Someone find some japanese BT sites and it'd probly be there but I know of none.
