i did think of that when someone in another forum posted this pic of the original "the thing" which looks almost exactly like the one in the photo.

if he starts out like this, and gradually becomes the thing we have all known, that might be kind of a cool element. almost like the heroic take on what happened to goldblum in the fly. it would really make the audience sympathize with poor ben as he becomes less and less human. now, if only they would scrap everything they have written for doom. any ideas on that one?

Yeah, if thats the final look for Micheal Chiklis as the Thing than I am not impressed. Who knows though, when he moves he may actually look cool. Too early to tell bu tright now he looks like hes made out of Orange Tang and peanut butter. Wait, he looks more like hes made out of Butterfingers.
