    dyanna and natalie

I don't really think of myself as much of an inker, but I want to get better, so I bought some new pens.

The first is Dyanna Star, a character created by my sister. I'm planning on using this for a t-shirt design.

Natalie Portman. It doesn't really look like her, but I still like how it came out. I was basically experimenting with inking, and almost gave up at one point. But I like how it came out.

    Enjoy.

renisanz01: i went to a new/different comic book store today. i got 5 new comic books for under $8, plus the guy even put them in those little archival bags
    Arsonist 102: was it better?
renisanz01: yeah, considering the books i got cost $3 a piece, and one was $1.99

The first one is really clean... beautifull pic...
The second one is also very nice (the nose and the eyes are really good). Just two comments... i found the hand a bit flat and the feathering on the coat (left down) look a bit unfinished compared to the rest of the image...
    Good work

KaRzA - about the first one. . .thanx. the second. . yeah, i see what you mean about the hand. I can probably fix it by adding a little shading to the lines. and the coat has an unfinished look, because it is kinda unfinished. I didn't want to draw the entire photo, but I wanted it to appear complete, so i tried to fade out the values a bit. it worked in most places

    L1l'N - thanx so much.

I noticed you didnīt want to finish the coat... i was referring to the quality of the line you used to show it (near the finger)... they donīt look as fine as the lines you used on the face or the hair to fade out... thatīs what i meant

i'm glad you didn't give up on the second one. i like them both alot.

i made a promise to myself a while ago. before i give up on a drawing (not a sketch tho ) i give it ten more minutes. after ten minutes, if i think it's still no use, i give it five more. after that... start something new

Thanx for clearing that up. But, I see what you mean about that line. Looking at it Now I think I should have brokent it up instead of making one straight thing.

cool stuff, dig that 2nd one especially. the 1st one is cool too, that empty white space in her hair(in the pony tail) bugs me a bit though-distracts from her face, I think.
