Question trying to ink in illustrator

Ok im new to inking. Thought I would give it a shot. So I found this. http://www.pensnpixels.com/tutorials/digink.htm

Everything started off ok. But I have one major annoyance so far. Every time I try to ink a new line near my prevous line it thinks i'm trying to change that prevous line or continue the previous line. I know it must have something to do with anchor points of the last line. I'm very new to illustrator so i'm sure it's something simple. Something i've got turned on or off or something. If im not making any since with this post, sorry.

Well thanks in advance even if im not makeing any sense

Yoiu can turn this off in the Illustrator preferences. Just click/unclick the box that determines whether a stroke stays selected after it is made.

Yeah, thats a pretty good tutorial for inking in Illustrator.
Only drawback I found is it makes all the lines abit to perfect. You kinda need to throw in a little chaos into your artwork to make it look more organic.
