what are your guys thoughts on it so far, im personally digging it, i dont know as much about the DCU as i would like but i still can folllw whats going on. The art is also nice and crisp, and the end of part 3 makes me want to read the next issue. I have my theroy about who the killer is, but everyone would probably argue with me who it is, but ill hint you towards who it is, who has been notiably absent from the first 3 issues, if u know the answer to that you know who i think it is.
Actually, Atom Basher, I think we're looking for more in-depth reviews as opposed to the standard "I thought it was pretty good" posts. What did you feel about the artwork, the story pacing, etc.? The dialogue?
Also, if you're reviewing a specific issue of a comic series, be sure to let us know what issue you're referring to.

I've been stuck on this thing for the longest! It's a long, boring read. Maybe if I knew who half the people were I would love it but I get confused with all these Supermen and bit players running around. I mean, that Catman guy might be cool to people to know the character but to me he's just a guy with a big puss on his face.

I was okay with the first two issues, but the third felt like a waste of money. I've never found Deathstroke to be an interesting character, and thought he was always doing things he should never be able to do. I understand the higher intelligence, strength, and speed (though the 90% of his brain thing makes little sense), but he should never have been able to take on this line-up of heroes. I thought the entire fight scene was well-detailed but not as well thought out. First, why would Deathstroke fight the League at all? If he was hired to protect Dr. Light then why would he take him back to the place the League was going to be looking for him? It's especially stupid when all Deathstroke did, in the end, was run away. My other complaint with the fight was how DS almost defeated Kyle Raynor. First of all, Kyle's ring is not run on his willpower as Hal Jordan's ring was. Second of all, Kyle has been GL for a while now and he would never attack someone like Deathstroke with his FIST. He would (and should have) merely put him in a bubble or some other way of constraining Slade.
I'm going to ignore the mysoginist complaints that many people have had and reserve judgement until the end of the series. Lets just say that using on-screen rape is not one of my favorite writing devices. Also, the fact that Sue was pregnant was a plain cheap attempt to make us feel bad, if we didn't already.
Another complaint: I do not believe that Ollie or Hal would EVER allow the rest of the league to mind-swipe Dr. Light or anyone else.
I'm curious as to why Batman was in Dr. Light's memories. If nothing comes of that, I'm gonna be pissed.
I think that there are several other plot holes so far. The biggest one is that if Dr. Light did not remember the rape incident, how could he know that the Justice League would be coming after him?
I really wish that the Brad Metzler of Archer's Quest had shown up to write Identity Crisis.
One thing in the story I've enjoyed was the villains. I love the idea of there being an "Anti-Oracle" and even more that it's the Calculator. The assasin assembly in the old Injustice Gang station was a very good scene as was the Captain Boomerang scene when he was trying to reunite with his son. I like the idea of a washed-up supervillain trying to make things right in his life.
As for the art, I've enjoyed it so far. Occasionally, someone's eyes will kind of freak me out, but it been good enough for me so far. I thought that during the fight scene, it was a little unclear what was happening in some parts, such when Kyle attacked Slade. And though I don't like the character, Rags Morales has drawn one of the best Deathstrokes since George Perez.
And atomsmasher, if you're thinking its Batman, you're wrong. DC would never do that with its second biggest icon.

This series uses a lot of continuity in it, as did the other comic Brad Metzler wrote, Green Arrow: Archer's Quest. This story is a little better if you're into the DC Universe. Of course, if you're REALLY into the DC Universe, its probably much worse for you.
HAHA, yep thats who i think it is, BUT there could be some crazy explaination, like mind control, NOTHING explains his absence. even if he IS in the lab, why not just show scenes of him in the lab, the fact that he is missing is very weird to me, and i think if somthing doesnt come of THAT, it would be pretty lame
This really isn't a Batman-centric story, though. This is mainly about this era of the Justice League which Batman was not really a part of. Hell, Superman has barely been in the series so far. The fact is that Batman works better with fewer appearances. He works behind the scenes rather than in them. Basically, the reader should realize or think that Batman is doing something but not see it.
And anyways, Bats (sorry, John) is going to some into play sooner rather than later. Look Dr. Light's memories of the League fighting him. Batman is there, but he was not there when the League told Kyle and Wally about it. Either Batman is going to play a big part in the coming issues, or Rags Morales made one of the biggest mistakes ever in comics.
