    Huckleberry Finn (spoilers)

I'm read the story and there is one thing I can't figure put. Why are Jim and Huck going down the Mississippi, to escape slavery?

Well, first of all, Huck is white. Come on, dude. It's not a hard book. What's going on in the rest of it when he took off down the river and no one knows where he is? Think.

I think it is just Twain's way of showing how strong a black man Jim truly was. As has been scientifically proven, black people are afraid of water and, like Stitch in 'Lilo and Stitch', they cannot swim due to the high density of their genetic structure. Thus, Jim showed how much courage he really had by being on that raft in the middle of the mighty Mississippi river with a prepubescent white boy.

yes, I am comfortable with the fact that there will be a section of hell cordoned off just for me...

Yeah I've read that theory before but it doesn't hold water because Lilo and Stitch were never on the Mississippi.
