I've been busy moving into my new house and working on some other stuff so I haven't had time to post lately. Anyhoo, here is a pic of the Engineer that I wanted to do for a while. If anyone feels like inking and coloring this let me know. I think it could look pretty nice as a wallpaper or something.
You must have a zillion circle templates. You love them. Admit it.
I like this pic, very archaic tech looking.
that is awesome...though I wish you would resolve the lower legs in a better way...the fading off doesn't work with the style of the pic...at least not for me...
Something like a thick black curve opposing the curve of the "tentacle" that comes out of her arm... like this ( ) only rotated at an angle. you would be referencing a yin yang (another "ancient symbol") without drawing it...I think it could work out nice...though I'd test it in photoshop before committing it to paper...
Yep, love those circle templates!
snakeI, Interesting idea, I was thinking about something like that and hen I decided against it. Testing it in PS is a good idea. Thanks
Ya know, I hate it when people gripe about the legs running off the page, is there a Support Group or something for these people? People Against Page Run-off - PAPR -
Just kiddin' - Not really - Yes I am...maybe.
Great drawing though! But if she's an engineer, she must be a bitch to work for- what's with the gun - Do it my way , ...no...BANG-BANG! You over there, that's all wrong! BANG-BANG!
Great tones with the graphite stick. Very inspiring.
Man, I just looked at your other stuff, It's F&*KIN badass! I really dig your style.
it just makes the piece look like it wasn't thought out well enough..."oh crap I ran out of room...guess I'll just fade it off to nothing". It really isn't that big of a deal, but if you are going to do it, throw in a design element and make it look totally intentional...it makes a difference in the final image
I like this pic too.
One crit: I think you should make the face a bit more feminine, the rest of the pic seems beautiful and delicate (as gay as I sound saying that) , but the face seems a bit troubled and worn...
otherwise interesting contrast...
Glad you like my stuff Blind.
I agree with SnakeI, I was thinking of a fade thing also, maybe I'll try both and see what happens.
Brendon- I do have that tendency at times. My shading on women's faces tends to age them somewhat. I will have to think about that.
I'm horrible at giving technical criticisms. I can only say I really like it! The Authority is a great comic and you've done the Engineer proud.
You've got a good thing going, just do what all artists should do and strive to improve from day to day and I'm sure you'll reach your artistic goals. Just be your own worst critic! Cheers!
