Nah, I've got a job and I don't want to go alone anyway. I'll wait for the weekend. My guess? It'll still be there for me.
Might as well jump ahead of the game, because I got my ticket for midnight tonight, and we're all going to be talking about it by 4 AM.
I gotta actually get there an hour early to get in line for a decent seat, but hey... I did it for Star Wars, and I expect this is much better. I'm seriously looking forward to the battle at Pellinor Fields (over 200,000 troops) and Shelob, and of course more Gollum and... well, the whole damn thing looks like goodness.
Who else is crazy enough to try and go see it tonight?

I have two friends who are going to the entire trilogy showing today. Started at 1:00 this afternoon and will end at 1:00 tommorrow morning. I'm jealous.
Yep, monogamy's where it's at in the 90's.
If I didn't have to be up in the morning I'd be at the midnight show. I'll be at the 5pm show tomorrow. Can't wait.
my ticket says 12:01
i'll be there early with the posse. i'm so jazzed about it. oddly enough, i'm kinda bummed that it's ending tho. it's been a fantastic annual tradition that i don't want to let go of.
i know it's gonna rule
and i love that i have no idea what's gonna happen.
i'll post my thoughts at about 4am PST
then i wake up at 9 for finals
=BoB=
i predict that this will be a very long thread
=BoB=
Yeah, I'll probably post a few thoughts right before I crash out.
The theater I'm going to is doing the all day thing in one auditorium, and then opening up 4 of them just for the midnight showing of ROTK.
On a related note, who wants to take odds on their being another thread just like this one started by someone else tomorrow, even though this one is a good 6 hours early?

I'll wait until after Christmas maybe even next year when the rush has died down.
Don't like crowded cinemas much.
I’m going to wait awhile as well.
There is nothing I hate more than other movie goers. If I had it my way, I’d be the only person in the theater.
I’ve learned my lesson that if I go the first week to a movie like this I’ll spend the whole thing telling people to shut up, and cursing at the parents that brought their crying toddlers.
Like Chris said, I’m sure that it will be in the theater for awhile. If I’ve waited a year, I can wait a few more weeks so that I see it the way I’d like to.
If you like what you see, then dig it at www.idigcomics.com
I'm the same way actually... but I figure only obsessed uber-geeks like myself would actually go to a midnight showing of a 3-1/2 hour movie... so it's actually pretty good odds that I'll be in a theater packed full of people like myself, ready to commit murder on the first person to use a cellphone or bring in a baby.
That's why I'm not going tomorrow night... because tomorrow night will be much more full of "normal" types who might be foolish enough to commit such heinous acts as falling asleep and snoring loudly (this actually happened when I went to the premier of Hulk). And there's no way in hell I'd go this Friday. Eurgh.
