Just passing this on, sorry its so sudden but I had no idea until tonight.
CREATORS OF BATMAN ADVENTURES #9 SIGNING AT
JIM HANLEY’S UNIVERSE…TWICE
Indie Artist And Rookie Writers Share Spotlight At Both JHU Locations
Eisner and Ignatz Award Nominee Dean Haspiel (“Aim To Dazzle,” “The Thing: Night Falls on Yancy Street”) takes his first stab at that Dark Knight Detective when “Batman Adventures” #9 hits the stands on December 17th. To celebrate, Dean will be appearing at BOTH Jim Hanley’s Universe Locations (4 West 33rd Street, New York, NY 10001 and 325 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY 10306).
And he’s bringing some friends.
Gabe Soria may be a new name for some, but his work is seen by many. Gabe writes articles for popular men’s magazines, Blender [Magazine] (Maxim) and Vice Magazine. This is his first comic book story.
Also sharing writing duties for the issue is rookie writer, Vito Delsante. Vito is also an employee of JHU, which makes this event even more special.
Joining the trio on the 17th will be Mike Lilly, currently the artist of “Detective Comics”. Mike is no stranger to fans of the Bat, having worked on titles such as “Nightwing” and “Birds of Prey”. This will be his first appearance at JHU.
Also making an appearance is the fan favorite creator of “Box Office Poison”, Alex Robinson. Alex won the Eisner Award for Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition in 2001, and has been nominated numerous times since. One look at “BOP” and you’ll see why it’s a critical and fan choice year after year.
Rounding out this “rogues gallery” are the duo behind the hilarious comic “Gabagool!” Chris Radtke (writer) and Mike Dawson (artist) bring their special brand of infectious humor to the table as well as Sharpies to sign books!
But the party doesn’t stop there. Three days later, it moves across the Hudson.
On Saturday, December 20th, Dean, Gabe, and Vito will all appear at the Jim Hanley’s Universe location on Staten Island from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. The trio will be on hand to sign comics, dole out industry secrets, and suggest gift ideas!
Midtown Appearance: Wednesday, December 17th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
Staten Island Appearance: Saturday, December 20th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
Call 212-268-7088 (Midtown) and 718-351-6299 (Staten Island) for more information.
