gollum sketch

another doodle from art history. i've never drawn anything this ugly on purpose. but gollum is such an appealing character, and images from the movie were stuck in my head, so i tried my hand at drawing him.

He...really looks feminine(sp?). I guess it's the way you rendered the eyes and mouth(Looks sorta like he's wearing lipstick or something.)

for what it is worth, i thought that he looked a little more elfish. i thinkyou made his head a wee bit too round, and made his nose too small. he has a more sculpted and skeletal look to him. still, pretty good for doing it, i am sure, very quickly and not using reference. i like the x's on the fish's eyes. cute.

This piece lacks the anatomy and life style of your girl renders. I think you should have taken on a better approach for the pose he is in. The picture looks ugly compared to your usual stuff, I dont mean to bag, but this is just an incredible downfall. I can see how its on line paper too, maybe its just a doodle

people never read nowadays. . .and i also said that i've never drawn antying like this before ::sigh::

thanx for the comments vinn. I don't know if i'll be attempting gollum in the future. probably will though.

I say you should attempt Gollum again and again for the very reason that maybe he didn't come out as well as you would've wanted this first time.
