sword fighting is an art. guns are for ******* who don't know how to fight, like rappers and mobsters.
Man, how true is that? I live in the ghetto and i see all these little bitches thinking they're tough shit cause they got a glock in their pants making them think their dicks bigger.

Oh, and i voted for guns so that the 17 to 0 votes, in swords favor, will even out the poll.

Actually you have more of a fighting chance with a gun, unless the person is standing right on you with the gun to your head.

Guns. From a cinematic point, a nice gun battle always looks cooler than swords, because of smoke and exploding things around whoever's doing the shooting.

In reality, if I had to have a weapon, I would prefer to have one that if I saw trouble coming, wouldn't mean I have to stand right up with the enemy...I am a coward you know.

Guns. And watch Bowling for Columbine, for anyone who thinks all guns should be taken away from the people.

It's really all about the choreography.

A well-choreographed fight is awesome regardless of the weapons.

Anyhow, I like 'em both... that's why I like to incorporate both in my worlds.

I agree with Ink and they both can be good. BUt I'd have to say guns, in reality or fantasy worlds. I always like blasters in Starwars too over lightsabers. I dont think every Jedi can parry blaster fire.

Just rewatch the Matrix, Tombstone and Saving private Ryan... and then go play Halo, Counter-Strike and Vice City, you guy swill change your minds.

I say swords. For one, as someone said earlier, its truely an art form. we like art here don't we?
I mean anyone can shoot a gun, you just pull the trigger and the guys dead. Think about how easy that is!
its weak, its cowardly. hiding behind a gun or whatever you can kill someone from hundreds of feet away- you
could say that guns have taken away the emotional impact the violence of killing has on us.

But a sword, ohhh man. to kill a man with a sword have to get in someones friggin face to do it. You have
to Feel the blood on your hands, see the expression of pain on their face. It takes a f@#in real man(or woman) to
do that! You have to be ready to kill with a sword

maybe if there were more swords and less guns, people wouldnt be so quick to murder? Lets all bust out the katana's
and take sword fighting lessons. Keyyyyaahh, and all that. I'm out.

Hmmm....I have to say no decision.
I love Soul Calibur and the swords, and LOTR swords and all the good sword flicks as well.
But I also love Gungrave and there are some pretty outstanding gun fights in some movies...just go watch last man standing, beautiful gun fights! So yeah I guess it just goes on whatever you are doing...me I am doing 3 diff books now--2 have guns and 1 is swords and magic....oooh magic....I vote for magic, since it totally rocks in Arrowsmith (published by Cliffhanger).
and that is my final answer.

final fantasy 7, 8, vampire hunter D... I pick swords! Theres more of an art to swinging a sword around than standing and pressing a trigger. Course that is just my opinion. But then again you can always have a gunblade. Id take one of those with no second thoughts.
