Arrowflight at SPX!!!
Imagine yourself this way...
Once there were six of you, tall and beautiful, the embodiment of a nation's future dreams.
But one sullen winter morning those dreams were murdered, and your siblings were soon dismembered and scattered like so much trash. You would have shared their fate, but for a handful of people who risked all to save just one of you. You are now fully awake, yet numb, as they tell you that the time of your vindication is decades away and in the meantime, you must again go to sleep - outside space, outside time, and totally alone. After an instant of freedom, it is like flying into a wall of absolute cold, and that's the last thing you'll ever remember.
Until you wake again...
So begins the ARROWFLIGHT saga, a cycle of graphic novels by Monique Renee MacNaughton. This alternate near-future fantasy is partially based on actual Canadian history, and is a story you don't just skim through, but READ. After ARROWFLIGHT, you may never look at an airplane the same way again...
Heading to SPX? Arrowflight will be there too! There will be a limited number of copies of Arrowflight: The Maple and the Vine and Arrowflight: He Crossed His Neck with Thunder at the Angry Dog Press booth at V27A. (see http://www.spxpo.com/floorplan.gif ) They will also be offering the Potlatch benefit books, Whistle Blower and Lee's Easy Reader Kids' Books. Many Thanks to Russel McIntosh for giving my humble little books table space at SPX.
