god when i look at my sketches or even drawings it looks like im in 7th grade...![]()
its a really really fast sketch of a guy i made up. Anyways... I know things arent even and perfect but like i said it was quick. Im trying to get it to look right. I know his lip isnt straight but i meant to do that. I need to learn how to stretch the face muscles to make different expressions. Anyways how does it look proportions/anatomy wise?

I understand your pain my friend....and you can try what I did to get better I stopped doing pin ups and went straight into mostly doing sequentials...that way your art will at least be consistant and it will look more like its just your "style"...anyway cheer up buddy and drink a beer!

I suggest a different style, change your pencils, start trying to draw realistic, use some images that are random, which you can apply creativity to the piece, redraw it and then you can get practice and learn real anatomy and pick good poses and head angles!

Frustration with your artwork is natural, especially when you aren't able to take what you see in your head and transfer it to the paper. It happens to all of us.
I don't have any sort of fancy trick to tell you how to make what's in your mind match what's on the paper, other than to tell you to keep drawing. Maybe it's time to do some targeted practice, though. Find the one area of your artwork that you're most dissatisfied with right now. Is it body proportions? Is it musculature? Perhaps it's facial expressions, hands, feet, clothes, or something else?
Whatever it is, pick that aspect, and resolve yourself to becoming an expert on it. Study it, draw it, study it some more, draw it some more. Keep at it. Keep at it until you don't have to think so hard about it anymore. Then pick the next aspect.
I won't kid you - it's long and arduous, but if you're serious about wanting to move forward with your artwork, it's going to take long hours at the drawing board.
I'll point out, too, that you're railing against your own drawing here, when you yourself admitted it was a "quick" drawing. I know I'd hate to be judged on something I just cranked out in a matter of minutes, especially if I was the judge! Take your time, and don't worry about using your eraser. Don't be afraid to spend time with your drawings.

all i can suggest man is to keep on drawing. you dont even have to draw them fully rendered neither. i say go out buy yourself a sketch book and draw tons and tons of gesture line drawings man. afterawhile the anatomy just comes naturally. try sketching out real loose lines. i perfer charcoal too. it makes them look more dynamic.
and actually id like to see some of your gesture drawings if you do sketch em!
