    creation time limits

I know that most comic books have a tendency to be released with 22 pages at a one per month rate, and sometimes even two per month, but I think this is ridiculous. Of course, I am not a paid comic book profesional, so I do not have as much time to dedicate to the craft of creating, but even when I do have time to draw it seems I can only finish penciling a page after 2 or 3 days. So it would take me two or three months to finish a book.

I guess a pro finishes a page a day or more?
    does speed come with practice?
are there tricks to help oneself pick up the pace?

    feedback appreciated...

Speed does indeed improve over time. In the words of the late, great "Big John" Buscema, "First, learn to draw. Then draw faster."

I wouldn't call it a trick but, a working knowledge of perspective will speed things up considerably. Proper perspective is time consuming but, no where near the time you'll waste if you don't know what you're doing.

One thing that helps is the relationship between you and your inker. The inker gets to know your style after awhile, and so you can pencil in a sort of shorthand that the inker knows how to finish.
