Windows 2000 Professional Problem (HELP PLEASE)

So my friend has this problem. He has a dual boot system and he's trying to conert his operating system from Win95 to Windows 2000. Win2K is already installed but when he boots his computer into Win2K it auto loads the Adminstrator Login User name and asks for a password. He's never set up a user name or password for the op system and it doesn give him the option to cancel (like in Windows 98). Any advise on how I can bypass this or find out where I can locate the password on his computer.

iīm not a computer genius --- but my pc [win xp professional] asks for a password too when the windows main screen shows up ... i just press enter / "ok" then (without typing in anything) and can login (because i never set a password too)

but you may have tried this alreay -- so guess that was not very helpful

i put xp on a friends pc, and it asked me for a password. just like thomas i just hit enter and it let me pass, then i went into user options and shut it off. i dont know, you can always go f with the bios. that can do some real damage. good luck.

Damn, I know how you feel. I had some PS documents on my nephews cpu and it too used to ask me for a PW even when I had never put one on. My older brother bypassed it with his newbie hacks. I'll ask him tonight how he did it and I'll get back to you.

Sorry. I didn't know that forum existed. Plus I figured I have built some virtual friendships with you guys and would get more response from a more familiar environment...plus I figured someone could answer my question.

BTW...I still need an answer if anyone has it.

i just asked some buddy from another board ... and there is a programm called:

    ***C.I.A. COMMANDER***
    download shareware here

you can create a startdisc with it --- put it in when you reboot --- and the programm should let you modify all the passwords / registry entries on your PC --- (my friend thought thatīs pretty useful when you have forgotten passwords and stuff)

but since i havenīt checked it out yet i donīt know how easy it is to handle ... and i donīt know, dude --- be careful with it, and donīt ruin something

P.S.: proggy may be in german language ... sorry, but it was the only one i was able to find
