plz help

im so psyched .... i finally passed my 150 post amrk so i can usea a custom avatar .... only problem is , .....i dont know how to do it .... please help.

It has to be 50 px wide/tall or 4096 bytes, whichever is smaller. Find a picture you like, open it in PS, show the grid, marque a section you like to 50px, cut n' paste into a new file and save it. Check the file size to make sure it's less than 4096 bytes (or 4k) If not, you can change the color saturation and/or mode to make it smaller file size.

Then go to user cp (up top there) Edit Options and go down to the bottom where you'll see Use Custom Avatar.

Outside of that it just takes some finagling to get the file the right size.

You can always "save for web" to reduce file sizes. As long as you have PS or a comparable program anyway.
