    The future is now

Think about it, we're living in a world where cloning exists. We have cyborgs. People who have actually LOST EXTREMITIES and use cybernetics to work as fully functional replacements for those lost limbs. Cameras that hook into the eyes of blind people al la Jordi laForge to give them sight. In a couple years, they will begin to market the flying car, (even though for the first few years before the air traffic controls new regulatory proceedures are put into effect, you'll need a specialized pilots licsence to fly one). There are nanomachines that can sever the ends off of chromosomes that cause the aging of living organisms.

We are truly living in a marvelous time, technologicaly improving daily. I wish i could live forever to see how it all evolves.

You are forgetting about the flying cars! When we have flying cars then we'll be in the future.

I think about all this stuff happening and all that is on the verge of happening and all the many fantastic things that may possibly happen and I want to live forever to witness it...and with all the advances being made being alive that long might actually happen and even if it doesn't I can freeze my body and be thawed to see the future.

Then I think how completely selfish it is to live forever. To take up space indefinitely on an already overpopluated planet just for the sake of curiosity is so self-centered and wastefull. I wouldn't opt for it.

Then I hear that it may be possible in the near future to tranfer your brain to a computer...living on a microchip. Well hell...i'm all about that. I'll get a time share body to truck about every now and then and spend the rest of the time in virtual reality with cheesecake and jennifer connely.

You should get some of Alex Chiu's Immortality rings Shinolahead. Does anyone else on this board have some?

The future is scaring the jeebus out of me. Cloning? Computer brains?

I'd rather not think about it.

I don't like the idea of transferring brain to computer chip. I don't think it will really be us anymore, so much as a cheap imitations (since microchips only cost a buck or so to make).

As far as the selfishness involved in living forever because of overpopulation, it's only a matter of time before we start terraforming colonies on other planets. But, that would just be another thing i would want to see.

Did you guys know that 2 or 3 years back, scientists made their first QUANTUM computer? It has the power of (i'm probably going to get my facts a little wrong, so look it up yourself) 5 supercomputers and all it is is a greenish liquid in a test tube. A liquid computer. My friends were scared about it, but i thought it would be cool to have a quantum computer floating somewhere around in your noggin. Yeah , it would eventually get hacked and you'd have to **** with the microsoft bluescreen of death, but it would be a fun run
