    Animal Crossing

or, as I like to think of it, electronic crack. I love this damn game just cause it's so different. No 'Boss fights', no impending doom, just a cozy little town that you make your own. If you are looking for a solid, entertaining game check it out. If you are wanting blood and guts, don't bother.

anybody else got it? if so, we need to do some tradin'...

My roommate and I are addicted to it. In fact, he just wrapped up so now I'm going to nerd out to it for an hour or so.

it's horrible.. I now get up 20 minutes early just to see if I can catch some morning-only fish or bugs. Then I go talk to the townsfolk, cuz they get mad if you don't talk to them until 5pm. I thought the damn SiMS were addictive, but it's nothing like this.

alright, Chris.. I got apples, peaches and cherries. and I've got a second golden shovel growing in the back yard...

    whatcha need, buddy?

I honestly expected the game to be really big when i saw the commercial for it on the tele. I'm glad that it's as addictive as I expected. So, what's the deal about the characters playing even when you're not?

it's more like, while the game is loading off your memory card it realized the last time you played, and figures in the amount of time that has passed to make some changes to your town. If you don't play for a few days, the animals can get pissed and move out of your town. You'll be over run with weeds, and you may have roaches in your house. The game's 'realtime' feature is probably the coolest... if you are playing in the afternoon, you can watch the light get dimmer as the sun sets. Certain bugs and fish only come out at certain times of the day (just like real life! eerie!).

anyway, i definitely recommend the game. If for nothing else than to just have more people to trade stuff with

oh, and there are about a dozen old school NES games that you can find. THE FULL GAME. kicks ass. I have Excitebike, Donkey Kong, Balloon Fight and Donkey Kong JR MATH (which sucks)

I think they're referring to the fact that new people move in and out of the town and the seasons and days change. Also, up to 4 real people can have a house in the town and affect changes.

I only have pears so far, red7ine. I got an apple on one of my first days but without realizing its importance, I sold it to Tom. My roommate buried an axe in a golden spot but I didn't know that and I dug it up prematurely. Oops.

I have the biggest house you can get and I just want to get some nicer furniture for it and start getting golden tools and new fruits.

I have Golf, Tennis and Donkey Kong. I won't get my NES game until August 6th. Ugh. I should have lied about my birthday.

My favorite thing to do is collect fish, fossils and bugs. I don't seem to come across many new fish or bugs though, do they only come out in certain seasons? I have about 60% of the fish and about 90% of the fossils.

Yup, this game is crack addictive.

But, I picked up Starfox the other day, and I must implore you to go buy it NOW! It's beautifully detailed (individual threads of grass!), and just awesome to play. Think of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, starring Fox McCloud, and some of the most beautiful graphics I've ever seen. (I love Zelda, so this game is just rocking my world...along with Mario, Eternal Darkness, etc., etc..)

    Later days, Aiya!

I want those too but I think the next game I will actually pick up will be Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice City and then wait till Christmas time to get more games. (I still haven't picked up Mario).
