I like the Dragon Ball (z) manga. The show gets a bit too drawn out for me. The Funimation dub doesn't help at all...

wahtever. Like the dub isn't so ****ing good. I don't even want to hear and otaku bullshit over this. THe voices are fine, the show is great, I just wish they could pump out 4 episodes a day with no reruns........ EVER!

The voices suck man.

Remember the voices they had in 95'? I could live with those. The ones they have now are too goofy. I can't stand the background music either.

The only gripe I have with the anime as opposed to the manga is that the anime is SO drawn out. Events that happen in the space of a few pages in the books take half a damn episode.

This largely has to do with the fact that the animated series was being created almost simultaneosly with the manga, and in fact they were producing episodes of the anime FASTER than Toriyama was producing new episodes of the manga... so they had to add in material to the anime episodes, in some cases adding in entire story arcs (remember when Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan first went off to Namek to look for the new Dragonballs, and met the two guys that were pretending to be Namekians, as well as the giant starship full of kids? All of that was made up just for the anime... in the manga they go straight to Namek.) just so they can string out the damn show a bit more.

"The planet is going to explode in just 15 minutes!! We've got to get away!!"

(10 episodes of relatively non-stop fighting later...)

"The planet is going to explode in just 5 minutes!! WE've got to get away!!"

I like how they build up to a big face-off for five episodes, then the characters stare at each other and grunt and flex and glow for another three, then they fight for four episodes. All amounting to three minutes DBZ time.
