Well I got Terminated to day...

I got up, went in to my shitty ass job, and 15 mins later, was told that they would have to terminate me...for the lamest thing in the world.

    Stealing? No not that.

Being lazy or a slackass? Nope, I work hard.

    ....I got fired for drawing!

The night before, I was up in the office of the grocery store I work at, I was close out that night. We have one of those desks witht he plastic cover on top so you can stick things under it to look at and what not, well I took one of our dry erase markers and was doodleing cause I was going out of my mind. This isn't anything out of the ordinary, I do it a lot when I have the night closeing shift. Well this time I forgot to erase it before I left, it wasn't anything bad, jut the phrase Weis 4 life all ghetto style. Well, my dumb ass manager assumes that because I drew that, I must have drawn all the shitty things in the bathroom at work (which have been on the walls since before I worked their) and fired me. I would have made a seen, except I didn't even like workin' there.

If you work in a job that can get boring with lots of periods of inactivity, tell your employer you draw in those spare moments, and more often than not they won’t mind, but be secretive about it and they will come down on you.

Also make sure you do it with your own stuff, take in a pad, pencils, pens, erasers, whatever you need, just don't draw on or with their stuff.

sleep with your bosses wife, and leave little clues so he can find out. Hell, DRAW them for him

All in all, working at a grocery store is for lamers, take shooting lessons and become a hired gun or a bounty hunter. They're like cops, without being hated on as much because of their mythos.

Go to a record store or something. When those people hire someone who's been working at a grocery store, they usually know they're getting a good employee because the person has already crawled through shit and anything that comes at them from irate music geeks is like butter.

I ink at work all the time.. If I didn't I would go *INSANE*. I work in a call center/cubicle office environment answering questions that people have about the status of their student loan consolidation application blah blah blah.. I am somewhat limited on space which is why most of the stuff i post on PJ is inked 8/12 X 11 laser printouts..

My supervisors are cool about it.. they always stop and take a glance at what I'm doing.. and when they do I always make a point to never stop talking to the customer on the phone while inking.. if it's a question specific to a person's account then the pen goes down and I access the account and tell them what they need to know.. but if it's just general questions.. then I go into auto pilot.. pick up the pen and continue putting down lines.

This has worked for the past year...

I have one question for you:

How long did you work there?

I ask because I was in retail management and it was NEVER that easy to fire anyone. You had to write them up three times for the same offense before you could terminate them, unless they were within 90 days of being hired. We had to go through so much bullshit to fire the lamest people because we didn't want to get sued. People are so sue-happy nowadays, you have to cover your ass.

So, I ask, how long were you there? And, without legitimate proof, how could they possibly accuse you of grafitti on a bathroom wall?

Unless it was a really low paying job with no bennies that you weren't at for very long, I would consider pursuing some legal counsel.

I worked for a sporting goods store a long time ago and they fired me for playing darts on the job. The problem was that I was playing darts on the job...with two other employees. Yet, they fired me. So I sought legal counsel and was told since I had only been there for five months, making a measly $7.50 an hour, that I should just drop it.

But you were accused of doing something you did not. I think you may have a case.

I doubt there's a case for Fastball Special, unless there was a) a contract that explicitly spelled out the procedures of termination or b) it was a union position. Doesn't sound like either was the case.
