Thread: This week in comics. . .

This week in comics. . .

    Here's what I got:

Powers- Best comics scene of the year. . . Deena goes apeshit. I went nuts.

Fortune and Glory trade- I can't believe it took me this long to pick this up. Great read, everything about the book rocks.

Y: The Last Man- I finally got around to picking up #2 of this book, and I'm glad I added it to my sub list. It looks like a really promising title (monkeys + crazy supermodels + corpses = good.) Now I just gotta hunt down issue 1. . . Gah.

New X-Men- The "Genosha- One Year After" issue. Not a bad read, but I've come to expect more from Morrison. I'm certainly glad Kordey's off the book for the next while, though. . .

    So what'd you get?

Not trying to be rude, but this seems like a silly matching....

Needless to say, I have no comics this week...

    I purchased the following:

Fables #5--Bigby explains the mystery to us, and America slaps its head as we realize all the clues were in front of our face all along. The next story arc is drawn by Mark Buckingham.

Hellboy: Third Wish #2--I don't need to tell you.

Castle Waiting #15--Or, as I like to call it, Benito Waiting, because after each issue, I start waiting for the next one. Someone send Linda Medley some money so she can do this full time. Thanks. Possibly one of my favorite comics ever (not this particular issue--the series as a whole).

New X-Men #132--Haven't read it yet. It's probably good.

Still waiting on my Savage Dragon #100 reorder.

    Superpatriot next week, too.

Somehow, I doubt America's reading this comic. Or reading.

Anyhoo, I don't buy comics at the shop anymore. I got this thing called Short Cuts by Usamaru Furuya. It's a collection of one or two page comics about Japanese girls and sex. These are a few of my fa-vor-ite things...

    Powers - indeed excellent.

Hellboy: The Third Wish #2 - also quite badass

Nodwick - gaming humor... so silly

Dork #10 - Evan Dorkin writes great stuff. I sure wish Eltingville had done better...

I think that was it for this past week. Light...

Defiance > Screw the story, I'm in it because I'm shallow when it comes to comicbooks and love seeing the painted goodness.

Tom Strongs Terrific Tales > Art Adams, need I say more?

Well, down here in Brazil (regarding comics) things are a bit different, and that week I just purchased Love Hina # 9 and Video Girl Ai # 16...

PS: Nowadays 90% of the titles that we have on the market are only mangás...
