Man, I sure am glad people with more liberal views don't attack people who disagree with their views.. that would be terrible.

When it to "separate person from the art", it's a privilege. It's not a privilege that most people of color, LGBT or women, have.
Bullshit. It's a personal choice available to people with the capacity to think, regardless of what box some righteous third party is choosing to place them in.

Then what's the point of conviction? You only stand for something until you don't? It's not "bullshit" and don't display my words as such. If you can't have a civil conversation then do not comment.

It's not conviction, it's intolerance. Too many people can't separate people from specific view they hold. This is the opposite of civility and part of the reason we have so many echo chambers and hyper-partisans running around. And it's a joke-do you grill your auto mechanic for his political views? Your doctor? Oh lambasting some comic guy online?

Good show! Stick to your guns. *golf clap*

Who's bashing? He's bashing. How is it intolerance? He told someone to go and kill themselves. He's part of the problem and I decide not to give him my money. If my auto mechanic, doctor, place of employment or even gas station endorsed hate or oppression. I wouldn't need to "grill" them. Which I'm also NOT doing. It's conviction. I'm standing my ground on something I believe in and I'm doing it with my money. If anything that's what America is all about.

I don't resort to name calling or attacks. I think you may want to relearn what intolerance means. As a person of color I have a front row view on the meaning of that word. Me not buying the work of a creator because they're being hateful isn't intolerance. Especially not on my end.

I'm done talking with you. Take care with your condescending attitude.

This is getting political now, which is against forum rules 'cause a couple decades here has shown that it's nearly impossible to have that discussion without it getting heated and personal.

Talk about Van Sciver or his books or the effect this has on industry aspects in particular, not about America (not everyone here is American) and let's refrain from speculating on the morality or intentions of other people in the discussion.

    That goes for everyone.

So, if he's been booted by Marvel before, I wonder if DC will do anything about this latest issue.

If that's the case. We shouldn't talk about him all together. He's political. To talk about him is to talk about politics.

You'd imagine if they have Alan Moore the boot and told Yale Stewert to **** off. They would give Ethan the same treatment.

I cant speak for all but as a person of color, I will not support a person who supports oppression. No matter what it looks like. When Frank Miller created his book, "Holy Terror" with so much undertone of xenophobia and hate. Many weren't saying, "let's separate the man from the art". They were flat out calling him xenophobic. They stopped buying and reading his work.

It's no different than people who stop watching Mel Gibson's films because of his hateful words towards the black and Jewish community.

If a person shows their colors and want to spread propaganda then I'll take my leave of their work. I do not and will not cloud my life, emotions or mind with the work of a hateful artist/creator.

I have zero urge to see, The Art of Nazi Germany and I'm not comparing these comic creators to Nazi's. I'm saying supporting hate and oppression is one in the same. It may have different faces but hate is hate and I'll never give my money to hate. Ever

I disagree with all of this, even though I understand your point. The problem with the age we live in is that there are outspoken people, who take to Twitter and the like to expose themselves by expressing their views. But for every one of those types, there are the silent ones, who won't divulge their views, beliefs, convictions, etc., because they're smart enough to know that it's just not a good thing to do. So, without your knowledge, you're already supporting hate. You just don't know it.

    It's a slippery slope...
