The StoryBoom launch his first webcomic and is looking fo new writers!
Have you ever dreamed about creating your own comic book? Do you have a great story idea on your mind, but struggled to make it real because it’s too difficult to find an artist to collaborate with, get your submission accepted by a publisher and gather all the resources to self-publish your work?
That’s exactly what the new Silicon Valley based start-up, The StoryBoom, is trying to solve. The idea behind the website is “to be the easiest way to bring your comic book ideas to life”. Professional or aspiring writers submit their story ideas and the community vote for the best one. The author of the selected story is then produced by The StoryBoom, which hires a professional team for the production of a high quality comic book. We also take care of publishing and the only thing the author does is to write us the comic script.
They already have the first comic ready, which was chosen in a first closed beta contest with 10 stories. The first story is NovaHope by the author Zé Wellignton.
In NovaHope, after a major economic crisis, corporations have replaced countries. The leading counsel who heads the United Corporations of the Planet, Adam Nova promotes a fighting robot tournament, seeking to find the perfect soldier to be funded by his corporation. Surrounded by protests from groups fighting for the rights of robots, the tournament has among its favorite Vulcano, a fighting robot whose main technical team is the engineer Douglas Calvin and the mechanic Amadeus Miazzi. But things get complicated when Vulcano is kidnapped by a pro-robots terrorist group.
