Jcatlett76, fine pose. I like your DD a lot. Cool rendering on him. But I think you're struggling with a bit of the technical aspects. I can see a lot of 'legacy whites' between the colors and the lines. I'm not sure how you colored this, but you may want to try a different approach. What program did you use?


pell, I like the street scene concept... and that a Hero is part of the community. I think though you could have spent a bit more time on the details, though. You forgot to color the hotdog. And the environment itself is looking pretty bare. Again though, funky idea.

Hey Juggs, I started not to even bother coloring at all. I'm having some issue with my hand healing from a cut across the palm and I've gotten infected from it. It's been over a week and still hurts like hell. So, I just did a very very quick coloring job in Sketchbook Pro. I've been feeling run down for days and just lack the energy to do much (likely the infection) but I wanted to get it done in time so I colored it in no more than 20 minutes...just to say I colored it. The background is mostly just quick bucket fills and blurring. Like I said, I started to just go with just inks.

Jcatlett76 The color does end up being more distracting than helpful, but the layout is still solid; the main issue is that the buildings are too generic, and so the look more like filler than an environment.

pell Ambitious, but it may have been better if you'd just focused on the distant half of the street, and used the time spent on the opposite side to instead increase the level of detail in the background. The buildings end up harming the piece: the solid colors are distracting and unpleasant; the fact that they continue infinitely is also a problem.
