    Lights, Camera, Draw sequential challenge

Ok so let's open this for discussion. I wanna draw movies as comic pages as a training exercise for sequential art. We can do the same challenges i discussed here it just won't affect the pummel ranking win/loss ratio. And since this technically won't be apart of the pummel league no weigh in's required so anyone is welcome. Anyone with me?

I'd be interested in that. So it is basically, once a month, someone will post scenes from a movie with short script, along with what the actual screenshots from the movie were. We take that and incorporate how we would tell the story through sequentials of 2-4 pages?

Are you talking about a comics adaptation of a movie scene or are you talking about rotoscoping (tracing) shots from a movie? I might be up for the first one (and that should qualify as a Pummel streetfight or draw off, I would think). I'm not sure if I'm interested in the latter.

@JDB: Thats exactly what i'm thinking, you said it better than i did i got excited and went off on a rant. Script and working from screenshots are optional just so long as the person works from the time frame of given movie. I'd offer the screenshots and script as options for people who don't actually own the movie would be able to take part.
@pell: yeah reproducing but not tracing. JC suggested it should be over here and not with pummel.

And this might not be a good subsection for this to be located since it's kinda hidden and hard to find. The general "proving ground" area doesn't seem to get a ton of traffic so it probably won't be a big deal if this goes over there.

Yeah, copying the exact composition of shots would be in violation of Pummel rules. Doing your own interpretation of the scene probably would not break the rules.

^ya pell that would be cool but here i wanna do these with the intention in focusing in on storytelling without getting to caught up on subject matter. And these exercises would prolly give us alot of fire power to take back over to the pummels.
So if guys are really down I could see about getting some screenshots together and starting our first challenge. (8/13-9/12?)
And eventually if we get comfortable (or bored) with this format maybe in the future we could just work from a script that way no copy rules would be broken and this could work for a pummel challenge.

But ya know what if you would wanna participate but take things a step further and completely rework the source material thats cool with me just so long as the main idea of the sequence is coherent. I don't wanna discourage anyone from participating and since there is no affect on pummel standings the rules can be very basic.
