great piece! that horse is fantastic! from the pose to the rendering! don't know much about the character so can't talk about how well you pulled it off in that sense but the figure work is great! very solid looking and nice pose! the only thing i see as letting it down is the lack of anything in the background on the ground..i know it might be clichéd but maybe throw a cactus or a cattle skull in there? just something...even something on the horizon in silhouette? just a thought! the piece is great without it!

Real great stuff. I liked the other version in your sketchblog a bit more, but it might have had a bit too much of an impact, which was not that plausible for horse riding. Anyway I dig this one as well.
