Wow. That makes me want to draw. Great job! Are you gonna do the rest of the band?

    Thanks very much, guys.

Yakemofv, I'm really glad, if my work can motivate others to jump onto drawing there and then:-) It's really nice to hear that. Make sure you share your work here on PJ!

As for the band question. Originally Slash's recent gig triggered the portrait and that's his solo project, so Miles Kennedy as singer and session musicians on the rest of the instruments. But, I was playing with the thought to do a stage shot. But I don't think it is going to happen soon as I just composed a list of things I had promised to draw in the past and I wanna make good on these promises first:-)

Mr. Nixon, thanks again and thanks for the pointers back then. They were a great aid. I think I still could have gone darker on the shadows, and the hair is still on a different layer, might have been able to merge it in better if I had dropped it to the face's... But it was enough learning for one piece, gonna be bolder next time:-) Counting on your comments again ;-)

It takes a great level of observational and technical skills to recreate a photograph but I would class this as a study. You could push this more while still having photo realism. Maybe it's an artistic preference but if you had some expressive brush strokes that could be visible.

Maybe incorporate a technique that has the same energy that Slash is renown for with his sound.

With that said you recreated the forms really well. Looks very dimensional.

Edit: The more I see it, it does look great but maybe seeing Slash in action is what I was hoping for. Make it happen. ;-)

    This just looks great Einar.
loving it more as he's getting a lot of radio play while I'm at the drawing board.

    Thanks again, guys.

Dri, that's definitely a study, I'm just learning digital paints but I'm already in love. As for the visible brush stroke and a more painterly style, that is something I definitely want to learn in the future. I just don't have the experience and the confidence yet, and a cleaner look seemed just easier to achieve. Style issues are still a bit beyond me.

Mr Nixon, stoat, baron spider, thanks for the kind words.

Stoat, we are all happy for Kerrang!:-) Or is something more generic?
    Cheers,
    Einar
