    Best and easiest website host for artists?

    Hello, I'm an illustrator and comic artist and I want to make a proper.com website, nothing fancy, just thumbnails of my work that when you click them they come full screen, an about page and a contact page, and also a way people can order copies of my comic on paypal.

    Here are examples of websites I want mine to be like

    http://maleev.com/wp/
    http://www.templesmith.com/
    http://www.milomanara.it/

    I heard wordpress was effective and easy, but I cannot get the gallery style format I want.

    There is one on Wix that is easy for me to use, and good design, but I heard these websites go down at random, load slowly, and Wix often loses your page

    For what I want, can anyone recommend a good hosting service? I already have my .com address registered, just need somewhere really easy to put my work up on.

    Incase you couldnt tell, Im a complete noob at website design.

    Thanks!

    If you're just looking for a site to put your work on, I'd suggest you just get a blogspot. I hate having to go through a bunch of fancy overdone website shit just to look at a picture of Wolverine.

    I've heard good shit about bluehost, though. I've heard a lot of bad shit about godaddy...

    well I want it to be somewhat professional looking, I am trying to make a career as an illustrator here, not just take it all half seriously.

    All I need is front page with thumbnails, an about page, a contact page, and a page where I can sell my comic issues, with links for people to buy it on kindle and ibookstore. nothing fancy or annoying

    the maleev website is the best example of what im looking to make

    Looks like Maleev's is a WordPress site - maybe just has a custom theme applied? Here is a snippet from the source of the website:

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.3.1" />
    But don't let this fool you into thinking I'm a webguru - I'm also looking for something along the same lines!

    Added: But here's the details of the guy supplying the theme for Maleev's site - Onioneye

    Can't open the milomanara site, but 30Days of Night-guy's also WordPress it seems:

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.3.2" /><!-- Please leave for stats -->
    Or am I misreading something?

    Oh yeah - as ssss6eight1 mentioned, you can perhaps start out with a free WordPress sit on their servers? And then later get your own domain...

    Or you can go ahead and contact any of the WordPress hosting companies, and get your domain name and hosting done through them?

    I've also heard Bluehost is good, and I'm investigating 1&1 now... Had a not-so-good experience with DreamHost - turned out that their 4 "Free" domains weren't free, so they charged me for those... So caveat emptor of course...

    Added: But I'm sure there people on this site that can help us with getting everything set-up? It's actually something I'd pay for if anybody *cough-cough* can help?

    I used Weebly for mine and it was very easy to use and get up and running (didn't cost me a dime, although I didn't purchase my own URL). (See the link in my sig). I know you can use your own URL; the only thing that you've mentioned wanting that I can't 100% tell you they can do is the paypal/order linking. As an online portfolio it works great though!

    Completely forgot about Weebly, Yola or Wix!

    Here's a site done with Wix - http://gaining-velocity.com/

    I've seen cool Weebly and Yola sites as well...

    Here's a comparison between them...
