NOTE: This page consists of two equal-sized panels; the intention being to show that both Armor and the X-Men are facing battles of equal proportion.

Panel 1
Armor’s father has now parked his car in front of his small—but very nice—home on the outskirts of Tokyo. Here’s some reference: http://pinktentacle.com/2007/12/subu...o-nightscapes/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/54124679@N00/1397421470/. Inside the house, the wake for Armor’s mother and brother is commencing. Many guests have arrived and are waiting respectfully by the door, all of them dressed in pitch-black clothing (men in suits, women in kimonos). Most are carrying juzu, which are Buddhist prayer beads (reference: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54124679@N00/1397421470/). Armor’s father is getting out of the car, his eyes on the house. Armor is looking out the car window with trepidation, fear and anxiety.

FATHER: WE’RE HERE.

V/O CAP: “YOU READY FOR THIS?”


Panel 2
Cut to downtown Tokyo, where we see Emma and Cyclops. They’re also getting out of a car, but they’re not looking at a suburban house—they’re looking at Fin Fang Foom!

EMMA: AS READY AS I CAN BE…




PAGE FIVE

Panel 1
Emma and Cyclops running toward a large delivery truck in the middle of the street that they plan to use as cover.

CYCLOPS: COPS HAVE CLEARED THE STREETS? BUILDINGS, TOO?

EMMA: ALL CLEAR.

CYCLOPS: GOD BLESS JAPANESE EFFICIENCY. CAN YOU GET IN IT’S HEAD?

EMMA: I’VE BEEN TRYING, BUT…THERE’S NOTHING THERE.


Panel 2
Now behind the delivery truck. Cyclops looks over at Emma, his mouth showing his consternation. Emma’s brow is knitted as she struggles to figure out what’s going on in Fin’s head. Is it too corny to show some sort of psychic corona around her head?

CYCLOPS: NOTHING?

EMMA: JUST A LOW-LEVEL…HUM THAT I CAN’T YET IDENTIFY.


Panel 3
Cyclops and Emma, standing in Fin Fang Foom’s shadow (caused by streetlights). Both of them looking up.

CYCLOPS: WELL, IT’S IDENTIFIED US…


Panel 4
Cyclops opens fire on Fin with his visor, but Fin fanning his wings, goes airborn, avoiding the blasts. The massive down-draft causes debris to fly up from the street.

SFX: CHOOOMM! CHOOOMM! CHOOOMM!


Panel 5
Fin, now about 50 feet in the air and hovering. Fanning his wings to stay still while he lowers his head and roars viciously, spitting a massive gout of acid toward Cyclops, Emma, and the delivery truck. Cyclops and Emma ducking for cover behind the truck.

SFX: HHRRRRROOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!

Panel 1
Cyclops and Emma, behind the truck—which is quickly dissolving into slag. Lots of noxious vapors. Emma frustrated and shouting.

SFX (acid): SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

EMMA: CAN WE NOT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE GODDAMNED ACID!?

Panel 2
Big panel. From above, leaping from the top of the building, arms an claws extended, his back to us. Directly below him is Fin Fang Foom (and, below him, Emma and Cyclops). Wolverine’s trajectory has him landing on Fin’s neck. Fin, focused on Cyclops and Emma, is unaware of Wolverine.

WOLVERINE: INBOUND NOW.

Gotta fix the arms, FFF looks like a drunk takin' a piss on the corner. Have him putting a fist through the building or something.

The first 3 panels would work very well vertically. Not sure about the last three. I tried 3 vertical and 3 horizontal but wasn't sure about it. But I'm wondering if 6 horizontal (like my original) may be too much. I'll play with it.

This is definitely the best option.

PAGE SEVEN

Panel 1
Wolverine lands on Fin’s neck, plunging in his claws…so I guess that means he lands in a squat. Fin is howling in pain.

SFX: SHUKK!

SFX: HHREEEEEEEEEE--!


Panel 2
Suddenly, Wolverine gets viciously slashed across the back by Fin’s whip-like tail. Wolverine’s back is flayed…and that makes him angry. Teeth bared as he curses.

SFX: SSSWOKK!

WOLVERINE: SON OF A--!


Panel 3
Wolverine pauses to shout down at Cyclops….

WOLVERINE: YO! ANYTIME YER--


Panel 4
…and Fin headbutts him right in the mouth with the back of his huge skull. It’s a crushing blow. Wolverine, anchored to Fin by his claws, bears the full brunt of the force.

SFX: KROKK!


Panel 5
On Wolverine’s dazed, bloodied face as he starts to lose consciousness.

WOLVERINE (fainting): READY…

WOLVERINE (fainting/quieter): SCOTT…






PAGE EIGHT

Panel 1
At ground level, we see Cyclops blast off one of Fin’s wings with blasts from his visor. Fin screeches in pain as he tilts to one side, his remaining wing pulling him into an awkward spin…

SFX: CHOOOMM! CHOOOMM!

SFX: HHRRRAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEE--


Panel 2
…and then crashes to the street below, which gives way under his massive weight.

SFX: KAKKRRROOOOOOOOOOMMMM





PAGE NINE

Panel 1
Cyclops and Emma look at the massive crater created by Fin’s falling body, both of them bent over and catching their breath. Steam (from ruptured hot water mains) and dust thick in the air, as well as acrid smoke from Fin’s acid attack.


Panel 2
Emma looks up and over at Cyclops, shaking her head in disbelief.

EMMA: IT CAN’T BE THAT EASY…

WOLVERINE (psychic): IT AIN’T.


Panel 3
Close on Emma’s face, her eyes going wide as she realizes what is about to happen.

WOLVERINE (psychic): MOVE!


Panel 4
Big panel. Fin Fang Foom, Wolverine still clutching to the back of his neck, bursts up through the street below where Emma and Cyclops had been standing moments before. Emma and Cyclops diving out of the way—one to one side, one to the other. Fin is screaming for vengeance, acid boiling out of his mouth. His broken wing hangs at his side.

FIN FANG FOOM: HHRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!

Playing around with poses for the first page. I'm thinking of throwing out a panel or two on this so the two smaller poses are going to be trashed.
