    Raiden Vs. Juggernaut

I was hoping to get some feedback for my Pummel entry for this month. It's been mentioned that it's hard to tell that the foreground character is Juggernaut. I thought it was pretty apparent, but I did stare at it for 4 or 5 days straight so I guess I lost the critical eye there. No one's mentioned the skull chair looking out of place, but I planned on adding Shao Kahn and ran out of time. Any other suggestions would be great, thanks.

I agree with those that said that Juggy is hard to read. Until you see the hand it just reads as a pile of rubble; once you see the hand you still have to pick through the greys to find a figure. Whether or not that is Juggs is in the eye of the beholder.

More arm bands and color will really pull Juggs off the background.

I quite like Raiden's figure in the pic and also the further off background. The funny thing is that they are more defined than the Juggernaut in the foreground. You might have wanted to put the focus on Raiden and that's the reason, but I still think the picture would benefit from defining Juggy's shape more clearly. At the moment he seems like a speed painting waiting for the details. With a less hazy definition and some contrast there you would bring him out nicely.
    Cheers,

I loved this when i saw it, but yes, you should have made more contrast between juggernuat and the ground. I absolutely love the smoke coming from the 3 holes in the mask though! And raiden is pretty badass looking

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I did try to up the contrast on Juggernaut, but I guess I should have pushed it further. Oh well, next time.

I think you could use the lightning to create more pronounced light and shade and contrast, so that the form of Juggernaut is better lit and more distinguishable. Right now it's the darkness of the piece as a whole with similar shades of grey overlapping, which is what makes it hard to read. Could be really nice if you get that figured.

Looks great so far but to me it looks unfinished. Spend some more time and fine tune everything. Good suggestions from everyone.
