Juggertha destroyed on this one, I must say. I think his piece is much more pulled together and effective.

BUT, I do have to bitch. I don't see either of these as what I would look for in a great caricature. The exaggerations are just barely dipping the toes in the water and relying too much on plain ol' big heads. For some masterful caricature, check out James Bennett (you've seen his work around, I'm sure).

    Destroyed? Okay ;/

Also I gave them more of neanderthal or ape-like proportions, not just big heads. I could've pushed things a bit more though I agree.

Yeah, but even the body proportions are only sorta exaggerated.

This is a very early piece of Bennett's (it's his family, I believe he said he did it like senior year of undergrad?), but also one of the more exaggerated. It's not just big heads, but extreme facial expressions and picking out which features to skew.

I'm glad I did this topic this month. I don't think I've mastered it, by any means... but I think I have a slightly better understanding of it - just enough to realize I've got a ways to go. lol

Thanks Juggertha, I like yours a lot, you really captured Freeman really well.

I honestly should not even be around in this poll because I was late. It was not my intention to keep you waiting 30 mins AFTER Juggertha. I had some sort of serious life problems get in my way, and I thank you all for your patience, I didn't mean to keep anyone waiting or disrespect anyone.

I'm just glad ya showed, man. And it's a great piece... one that scared me when I first saw it.

I honestly thought I'd take you out of your element when I chose this topic - silly me.
