I love your topic- it brings back great memories.
These are both great pieces. The sword fighting in Dreek's piece is awkward, but the character renderings are lovely and I love the soft feel of the coloring.
Hangman, I like the underground feel and all the little details you included- especially the watch. The sword fight seems awkward in yours too- maybe because the two characters don't seem to be facing each other.
I'm going with Dreek on this, but it was not an easy decision.
Dreek, this is one of your strongest pieces to date. Nice light vs. dark, warm vs. cool balance. Paintingfire is right though, the swordfight feels awkward, I think because neither of them actually appears to be interacting with one another, except for the fact that their swords are clashing. Hangman yours has some interesting stuff in it, but I think the coloring is coming off kinda flat.
This was a great topic and you did a hell of a job on yours Dreek.
I ran into problems with mine. I spent too much time coming up with my own version and ran into problems with Painter today. I'm hoping to go back to this to finish the background which I would say is about 15% finished.
